Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving operations of the organization. They play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting overall logistics and supply chain activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Receiving:
    • Receive incoming shipments, verify their contents and inspect for damages or discrepancies.
    • Update inventory records and ensure accurate documentation of received goods.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to schedule and track deliveries.
    • Coordinate unloading and organization of received materials in the warehouse.
  2. Shipping:
    • Shop each carrier to guarantee the lowest rate.
    • Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange transportation.
    • Generate shipping labels and documents, such as bills of lading and customs forms.
    • Audit/ Monitor rate quotes and invoices
    • Handle all carrier questions, & handle reconsignment and fright claims
  3. Quality Control:
    • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and compliance with company standards.
    • Report any damaged or defective items and work to resolve issues.
  4. Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers regarding shipment status, delays, and any issues that may arise.
    • Provide timely updates to teams.
  5. Clear to Pay:
    • Ensure quality received matches quantity on invoice.
    • Verify cost per item is the same as noted on the invoice.
    • Verify total on invoice matches the total in the purchase order.
    • Upload appropriate spreadsheets to bookkeeping
  6. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
    • Report equipment maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Pay Range: $17.00 – $22.00 Hour.
