Job Title: Wire Rope Technician

Job Overview: A Wire Rope Technician plays a crucial role in preparing wire rope products for sale by cutting them to specific sizes and ensuring they are properly finished with crimping and swaging. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and a strong focus on safety. The Wire Rope Technician is a critical member of the team responsible for ensuring that wire rope products meet quality standards, are safely prepared for sale. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently with wire rope materials and equipment.

Responsibilities:

    1. Wire Rope Cutting:
      • Measure and mark wire rope according to specifications provided.
      • Safely operate cutting equipment, such as shears or saws, to cut wire rope to the required lengths.
      • Inspect the cut ends for any defects, burrs, or irregularities and rectify them as needed.
    2. Crimping and Swaging:
      • Utilize specialized machinery and tools to crimp and swage wire rope ends, ensuring they are securely fastened and in compliance with industry standards.
      • Perform quality checks to confirm the accuracy of crimps and swages.
      • Make adjustments as necessary to maintain product integrity.
    3. Product Packaging:
      • Organize and package wire rope products in accordance with customer orders and company packaging guidelines.
      • Label packages with product information, size, and any safety warnings as required.
    4. Quality Control:
      • Conduct regular inspections of the wire rope to identify any defects, inconsistencies, or damage.
      • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent contamination and ensure product quality.
    5. Safety Compliance:
      • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
      • Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
    6. Documentation:
      • Keep accurate records of the sizes, quantities, and quality of wire rope products produced.
    7. Teamwork:
      • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production and packaging processes.
      • Communicate any issues or concerns related to equipment or product quality to supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and measurement instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy wire rope products. 50+ Pounds
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with operating cutting, crimping, and swaging equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Adherence to quality standards and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, ect.)
  • Pay Range: $15.00 – $18.00 Hour.
